Meet the Maker, Erica Moody, of Erica Moody Fine Metal, a professional metal worker since 1994, working from her home-based barn studio in Midcoast Maine.
Her copper, brass, and stainless steel oyster knives, cake serving sets, serving forks and spoons, ladles and chopsticks are functional in their use and elevated in design and detail.
In her earlier career Erica worked with architects and homeowners on custom metalwork. In 2016 she began creating fine serving tools we all use to gather and share a meal.
Using traditional technologies and old analogue tools she explores designs that share the history and beauty of handmade. She teaches metal working to woodworkers and the wooden boat making community as a way of living close to her values.
She has a goal to live a life with very little environmental impact and one that, through creating, connects her to resources and community in a very human way.
Welcome to Erica Moody Fine Metal!
