Meet the Makers Jerome and Benedicte Leclere of L'Impatience Ceramics. Their three gorgeous collections include place settings, dinner plates, salad plates, bowls, mugs, ramekins, ceramic pitchers, vases and more!
When they left France in 2008, they had no idea that one day they would call upstate NY home. They took a few detours, to Vancouver, British Columbia and Toronto, Ontario before they finally found their way to New York City.
The early beginnings of L'Impatience started in their Brooklyn apartment where they installed a makeshift studio comprised of a potter's wheel and a couple of shelves. They transported pieces to their local ceramics studio for firing hoping that nothing would break on the way. Many pieces did break because they were eager to see the end results before they were ready. That's how l’Impatience was born.
After a few years in the city, countless weekends spent upstate, and with baby Anton on the way, they decided to move to the beautiful Catskills region and grow their business, family, and lives there. All of their handmade pieces now come from their home studio in Woodstock, NY.
At odds with our inability to wait, L'Impatience was born out of a desire to slow things down. The pieces are created in order to appreciate the simple moments with elegance and modesty, an invitation for the good things to happen.
They hope their designs inspire you to rediscover the simple things, celebrate little moments and share it all with others.
