Atlas Throw Blanket
A reversible cotton throw inspired by the symbols, colors, and narratives in the weavings of nomadic women in the High Atlas Mountains. In the artist’s words, “As women weave their rugs to use or sell in the markets of local villages, each is imbued with ritual, superstition, and stories of the weaver who made it. We like to think our throws are infused with the lives and experiences involved in their creation and that they enrich the lives of those who own them. ” Isn’t that such a romantic concept?
This throw is a jacquard weave which is the process of weaving the design/pattern into the textile rather than printing it on after the weaving process. And if that weren’t enough, it’s a double weave or double cloth throw which, simply put, means it’s reversible; you’re getting two beautiful throws for the price of one.
